New Year's Yoga Retreat

This New Year I decided to go on a Yoga Retreat with Peachtree Yoga! This was an opportunity to connect with my yoga tribe, meet new souls, and try something new other than the usual customs for New Year's (cue the champagne and crowded bars). I decided I would deepen my yoga practice, and deepen my connection with Self and Other.

Sharing New Year's with your Sangha (community) was an incredible feeling. Connecting with nature, with each other, and connecting within! We spent each day eating delicious food (like REALLY DELICIOUS), being committed to our sadhana (rising early for yoga practice, meditation), cultivating metta(loving-kindness), and connecting with the elements. There were fires, singing, chanting of mantras(a word or sound to promote healing, love, concentration, peace ), intention-setting, and much, much laughter.

This experience brought a new feeling into my life of deeper dedication to my practice and the sacred. I am committed from this point forward to making each new year a time of intention setting for my Higher Self, and for the benefit of all beings near and far (added benefit of no hangover). I release the things that no longer serve my Higher Self and my Higher Purpose. I open up to love, light, and eternal peace. Most importantly, I open up to the humorous and curiosity in my life, recognizing that waves of change are always present.

May the teachings, community, and bodhisattvas (enlightened beings) help keep me grounded, compassionate, and whole. May the divine always gently speak softly to my heart... "Come Dance With Me, Come Sing With Me"
