Introducing Community Yoga At Norcross Presbyterian Church! Thursdays @ 6:30pm.
Hi, my name is Kyle Bennett, and I would love to share the practice of yoga with you at Norcross Presbyterian Church. This 60 minute basics class will not only strengthen and stretch your body, but will help bring about a sense of mental calm, focus, and clarity. As we use physical postures and the breath to move into this moment, the body and mind begin to strengthen and calm. There are countless benefits to yoga as I'm sure you've heard, from lowering blood pressure, to releasing tension, to relieving stress. Beginners can expect to be gently challenged to explore their "edge", finding the stretch and breath that produces an incredible feeling, and sometimes an intense feeling. This exploration of the body brings the mind into the present moment, helping us tune in.
Wear comfortable clothing, something you may work out in or jog in, along with a yoga mat if you have one, we will be able to provide a number of mats just in case for those who don't. Grab some water and a towel as well as you may experience a little heat as the body detoxifies. It's a good idea to be nice and hydrated before class.
One of the main elements to remember is to have fun! We will be cultivating lightheartedness, and a sense of community as we explore this practice together. We will be setting an "intention" at the beginning of each class, this might be a prayer, someone on your mind, something that inspires you, anything that may be going on at the moment for you, maybe something you want to let go of, or a quality you want to invite into your life. Bringing this intention to class will unite the body and breath with a mental focus point, helping synergize all the parts of ourselves.
Suggested donation is $10. Looking forward to seeing you on the mat soon my dear friends!
